- You will make the granny square first and then add the cat face.
- The stitch counts are listed at the end of every row/round.
- Join each round with a slip stitch to the first stitch made in that round.
- Repeat instructions between the asterisks (*) for the rest of the round.
- The chain at the beginning of each round does not count as a stitch.

Rnd 2: Ch 2, make 2 DC in each st, join (22 stitches)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, *2 DC, DC in the next st*, join (33 stitches)
Rnd 4: Ch 2, *2 DC, DC in the next 2 sts*, join with purple yarn (44 stitches)
Purple yarn
Rnd 5: Ch 2, *(2 DC, ch-2, 2 DC), DC in the next 10 sts*, join
Rnds 6-8: Ch 2, DC in each st and (2 DC, ch-2, 2 DC) in each ch-2 corner space
Cat Ears Pattern
Black yarn
Row 1: Ch 7, SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch, turn (6 stitches)
Row 2: Ch 1, SC in each st, turn (6 stitches)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc2tog, SC in 2 sts, sc2tog, turn (4 stitches)
Row 4: Ch 1, SC in each st, turn, (4 stitches)
Row 5: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc2tog, turn (2 stitches)
Row 6: Ch 1, sc2tog, continue to SC around the ear making a ch-1 around each point
Sew the ears to the granny square.
Cat Eyes Pattern
Yellow yarn
Rnd 1: Magic circle, 11 DC, join (11 stitches)
Rnd 2: Skip the stitch you joined to, in next st (HDC, DC, ch-1, HDC) sl st in next st, join
Use a little bit of black leftover yarn to stitch slit pupils to the eyes. Sew the cat eyes to the head.
Nose & Whiskers Instructions
Use gray yarn to stitch a nose and whiskers to the granny square.
