C2C crochet seahorse pattern free

This C2C crochet seahorse pattern is a bright and cheerful ocean animal square for blankets, pillows, wall hangings, tote bags, and handmade gifts! Here’s a quick overview of the materials, sizing, gauge, and pattern notes before you begin.

Skill level

Advanced beginners. This crochet square is made with basic stitches using the C2C crochet method and it involves color changes.

Materials needed

Crochet Hook Size: G-6 4 mm crochet hook or mm hook size needed for gauge
Yarn: Worsted medium weight. I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in white, black, pumpkin, pale yellow, and pretty-n-pink.
Yarn needle/tapestry needle: Use this to weave in your ends.
Scissors: Use scissors to fasten off your yarn.
Stitch marker(s): Optional. Use these to help keep track of your stitches.

Finished size

The finished square measures 22 x 22 inches (56 x 56 cm).

Gauge

8 squares (ch 3 + 3 dc) = 4 inches (10 cm)
