Ghost applique pattern

Row 1: Ch 14, hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each remaining ch, turn (12 sts)
Rows 2-8: Ch 2, hdc in each st, turn (12 sts)
Row 9: Ch 2, *hdc2tog, hdc in next st; repeat from * across. Turn. (8 sts)
Row 10: Ch 2, *hdc2tog, hdc in next 2 sts; repeat from * across. Turn. (6 sts)

Outside edge of the ghost

Work sc evenly around the sides and top of the ghost, working ch 1 at each bottom corner to turn. When you reach the foundation-chain edge, work the decorative scallops as follows: *skip 1 st, 4 hdc in next st, skip 1 st, sl st in next st; repeat from * across. After the final repeat, fasten off and weave in the end.

Ghost eyes

Make a magic circle. Ch 2, work (sc, 2 hdc, sc, 2 hdc) into the ring. Join with a sl st. Fasten off and sew the eyes to the ghost.

Witch hat pattern

  • Row 1: With purple, ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (8 sts).
  • Row 2: Join yellow to 2nd st, ch 1, sc in 6 sts, turn (6 sts).
  • Row 3: Join purple, ch 1, sc in each st, turn (6 sts).
