Crochet Terms
- dc = double crochet stitches
- hdc = half double crochet stitches
- ch/chs = chain/chains

Crochet Pattern Notes
- Join in the round with slip st.

Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first 2 sts, hdc 7, 2 hdc in next 4 sts, hdc 7, 2 hdc in last 2 sts, join (30 stitches)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first 3 sts, hdc 9, 2 hdc in next 6 sts, hdc 9, 2 hdc in last 3 sts, join (42 stitches)
Stop here for the baby size.
Rnd 4: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first 4 sts, hdc 13, 2 hdc in next 8 sts, hdc 13, 2 hdc in last 4 sts, join (58 stitches)
Nose Pattern
Use brown yarn.
Rnd 1: Ch 5, 2 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, 4 hdc in last ch, you will finish the round by working in the backside of the chs, hdc in next ch, 2 hdc in last ch, join (10 stitches)
Fasten off and sew the nose onto the face. Then, sew the face onto the hat.
Eye Patches Pattern
Use tan yarn.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 9 hdc, join with sl st to the top of the first hdc (9 stitches)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st, join (18 stitches)
Stop here for the baby size.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, *2 hdc, hdc in next st*, join (27 stitches)
Eyes Pattern
Use black yarn.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 9 hdc, join and fasten off (9 stitches)
Use scraps of white yarn to add the eye “sparkle”.
Sew the pupils onto the eye patches. Then, sew the eyes onto the hat.
Ears Pattern
Use brown yarn.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 9 hdc, join with sl st to the top of the first hdc (9 stitches)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st, join (18 stitches)
Stop here for the baby size.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, *2 hdc, hdc in next st*, join (27 stitches)
Sew the ears onto the hat. The ears should be in line with the eyes.
Smile Instructions
Use a piece of black yarn to sew a smile on the face.
