Crochet Sloth Appliqué Pattern Notes
- Join in the round with a slip stitch to the first stitch made in that round.
- The beginning chain does not count as a stitch.

Magic Circle Alternative
If you find the magic circle tricky, try this easier method for round 1: Chain 4, make 11 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, join (11 stitches)
Crochet Sloth Applique Pattern Instructions
Face Pattern
- Use tan yarn for rounds 1-3.
- Switch to brown yarn for round 4.
Round 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 11 dc, join with sl st to the top of the first dc (11 stitches)
Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st, join (22 stitches)
Round 3: Ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next st*, join (33 stitches)
Switch to brown yarn.
Round 4: Ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 2 sts*, join (44 stitches)
Fasten off and weave in your ends.
Eye Patches Pattern
- Use brown yarn.
- Make 2.
Row 1: Ch 6, hdc in 3rd ch from the hook, hdc in 3 rem chs, turn (4 stitches )
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in each st, turn (4 stitches)
Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in each st, turn (4 stitches)
Row 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st, turn (4 stitches)
Fasten off leaving a long tail and then sew the eye patches to the face.
Eyes Pattern
- Use black yarn.
- You will need 2 scraps of white yarn.
- Make 2.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 9 hdc, join with sl st to the top of the first hdc (9 stitches)
Use scrap pieces of white yarn to add the eye sparkle.
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Sew the eyes to the eye patches.
Nose Pattern
Rnd 1: Ch 4, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 4 sc in last ch, you will finish the round by working in the backside of the chs, sc in next ch, 2 sc in last ch, join (10 stitches)
Fasten off and then sew the nose onto the face. Make sure it is centered.
