I’ve made sure the instructions are easy to follow, so you’ll have a great time bringing your magical blanket to life. Not only is this unicorn blanket super cozy and cute, but it also makes the perfect gift for someone special. Whether it’s for a baby shower, a birthday, or just because, this blanket is a thoughtful way to show someone you care.
Yardage
- My blanket weighs 1,256 grams/44.3 ounces.
- Color a: you will need about 1,020 grams/36 ounces.
- Color b: you will need about 236 grams/8.3 ounces
If you want your blanket to look exactly like mine, you will need about 1,020 grams (5 skeins) of Caron Baby Cakes in the color candy hearts, and about 236 grams (2 regular or 1 jumbo) of Red Heart Super Saver in white.
I did not carry the candy hearts color across the white unicorn sections, however, I had 179 grams of the candy hearts color leftover. So, even if you choose to carry the yarn, you should still only need 5 skeins.

- The crochet unicorn blanket pattern is made using the c2c technique. You will make “squares” in diagonal rows beginning in the bottom right corner and ending in the top left corner.
- Each square is made of a chain 3 + 3 double crochet.
- Chain 6 to start a new row and chain 3 to start a new square.
