Dog Hat

Dog Hat

JANUARY 20, 2021

This one's for all you dog lovers out there! I know I am! I designed this hat a few years ago for a custom order from my Etsy shop. I don't recall why but I never got around to posting it on my blog. I decided it was about time I share it with the world! You could easily customize this puppy dog hat by changing the colors. I hope you like it!

If you love making hats like I do, scroll to the end of this post for more of my free hat patterns!

Use your tapestry needle to sew the inner ears to the outer ears through the sc border on the outer ear using Warm Brown yarn.

Use your tapestry needle to sew the eye patch, eyes, nose & ears to your hat. Use the photos I have provided as a reference for placement.

Pictures are from my Dinosaur Spike Hat.

Cut seven 30” strands of the Buff & Warm Brown yarns (total= 14 strands) for each braid.

Holding all of the strands, fold in half and pass the folded loop through the bottom of the ear flap (use hook to help).

Pass the strand ends through the loop and pull tight to form a knot.

Divide the strands into three sections and braid. Repeat for 2nd braid.
