Gauge

16 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches

If you have more than 16 stitches in 4 inches, try using a larger mm crochet hook. If you have less stitches, then try a smaller crochet hook.

  • dc = double crochet stitch
  • sc = single crochet stitch
  • FPdc = front post double crochet

  • The hat is worked in the round from the top of the hat down.
  • Join each round with a slip stitch to the first stitch made in that round.

  • Row 1: Ch 8, dc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each rem ch, turn (6 stitches)

  • Row 3: Ch 2, *dc2tog*, turn (3 stitches)
  • Switch to black yarn.
  • Row 4: Ch 2, dc3tog (1 stitch)

Fasten off leaving a long tail and then sew the ears to the hat.
