Here’s a quick overview of the materials, sizing, gauge, and pattern notes before you begin.
Skill level
Beginner. This is an easy pattern that uses basic crochet stitches in rows.
Materials needed
- Crochet hook: H-8 5 mm hook size or hook needed to obtain gauge.
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn #4. I used Red Heart yarn in white, bright yellow, and pumpkin.
- Tapestry needle: Use this to weave in the ends.
- Tape measure: Use this to measure head circumference.
- Stitch marker(s): Use these to help keep track of your stitches.

Assembling the headband

Lay your headband flat with the side facing you as the “right side” of the headband.
- Fold both ends of the headband toward the middle, overlapping the bottom end over the right half of the top end.
- Wrap the other half of the bottom end around the top end.
- Then, wrap the remaining half of the top end to the front.
- Sew the folded sections together, and turn the headband inside out to hide the seam.
Finishing
Fasten off and then weave in the ends.
