Crochet Stitches
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
- Yarn over & insert hook in next stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on your hook.
- Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on your hook.
Single Crochet (sc)
- Insert hook in next stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 2 loops on your hook.
- Yarn over and pull through both loops.

Row 1: ch 19, hdc in third ch from the hook and in each rem chain, turn (17 stitches)
White
Row 2: ch 2, hdc in each st, turn (17 stitches)

Border for American Flag
Using your white yarn and a G/4 mm crochet hook, sc around the border of the entire flag. In each of the four corners you’ll make (sc- ch 2- sc).
Weave in all of your ends using a tapestry needle.
Using a tapestry needle and your white yarn, add some “stars” to the blue section of your flag.
