Narwhal Hat

If you’re familiar with my designs, then you know that there are a few things that I really love to create. Crochet animal hat patterns are right at the top of that list. I really love looking for unique animals to inspire my designs. That’s how this crochet narwhal hat free pattern came about.
What Is a Narwhal?
If you aren’t familiar with a narwhal, then you might want to learn ore about this unique animal. It’s sometimes called the unicorn of the sea. I love unicorns. In fact, I have lots of unicorn crochet patterns, like a unicorn hat and a crochet unicorn dress. So, of course I also love the narwhal.
Narwhals are huge sea creatures. They can be over seventeen feet long and weight more than two tons! It’s like an elephant meets a unicorn in the sea. It’s pure magic. And I hope that this narwhal crochet hat pattern brings a little of that magical feeling to your life.

– H/5 mm & J/6 mm crochet hooks (I love these Clover hooks!)

0/3m, 3/6m, 6/12m, toddler, child & adult

You are crocheting in the round (hat).
The ch 2 at the beginning of each round does not count as a dc.
You can make any size hat longer or shorter by repeating or eliminating the second to last row before you begin the earflaps.

Crochet gauge: 15 dc= 4”, 7 rows= 3″
If you find that your hat is too large, use an I 5.5 mm crochet hook.
If you would like me to walk you through the first four rounds of my hat or if you need help with making a magic ring or any of the stitches, visit my channel.

Instructions between two asterisks should be repeated for the remainder of the round.
