Fill with poly fil and use your tapestry needle to sew onto front of hat 1-2 rows down from the magic ring.
Ears
Crochet hook: L 8 mm
Yarn: off-white
Row 1: ch 5, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in last 3 chs, ch 2, turn [4]
Row 2: 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in last st, ch 2, turn [6]
Row 3: hdc in each st, ch 2, turn [6]
Row 4: hdc in each st, ch 2, turn [6]
Row 5: hdc in each st, ch 2, turn [6]
Row 6: hdc2tog, hdc in next 2 sts, hdc2tog, ch 2, turn [4]
Row 7: hdc2tog, hdc2tog, continue to sc around entire ear, join and finish off leaving a long tail
Use tapestry needle to sew each ear onto the hat around 3-4 rows down from the magic ring. Make sure the horn is centered between the two ears.
Hair
Cut 16” long pieces of your mane colors (Light pink, Light purple, Blue, Green & Yellow ) and attach the strands two at a time around the stitches between the ears and down the back of the head. I recommend doing one row of each color.
Use a crochet hook to pull two strands of “hair” under a stitch. You will have the loop (folded section) on your hook on one side of the stitch and the 4 loose ends on the other.
Pull the 4 loose ends through the loop (folded section) and tie to create a knot.
Once all of the strands have been added to the hat, you can either leave them (which is also super cute) or use a tapestry needle to separate each strand in each piece of yarn to create the look that my hat has.
Pastel Scallop Trim
If you want the scallop trim to have the pastel colored finish like my hat has, simply alternate each color to sc around each scallop (each group of 4 dc). It’s a bit more work to weave in all of those ends but well worth it in my opinion.
