Free Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern

I designed this fingerless glove pattern to fit most teens and adults.

This is a beginner pattern

This free pattern is a great way for a beginner crocheter to practice their skills. It uses basic stitches in a simple stitch pattern.

Materials Needed

  • Crochet Hook Size: L-11 8 mm hook
  • Yarn: Super bulky yarn (#6). You don’t need very much yarn. I used one skein of Lion Brand Yarn’s Wool Ease Thick and Quick.
  • Yarn needle: Use this to weave in your ends.
  • Scissors: Use scissors to fasten off your yarn.
  • Stitch markers: Use these to help keep track of your stitches.

Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern

Skill Level

Beginner. This free crochet pattern uses basic crochet stitches in basic form and simple repeats in rounds.

Finished Size

One size fits most teens & women. 


5 stitches = 2 inches and 3 rows = 2 inches


  • Hook: L-11 8 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn: bulky #6
  • Notions: tapestry needle & stitch markers

Crochet Terms

  • dc = double crochet
  • ch/chs = chain/chains
  • st/sts = stitch/stitches
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • rem = remaining

Pattern Notes

  • Repeat instructions between the asterisks (*) for the remainder of the round.
  • You are crocheting in the round and working from the fingers down.
  • You can make your gloves longer by repeating the last row. 
  • The pattern is written in US crochet terms.


Crochet the gloves

Chain 16 and join with a slip stitch in the round.

Round 1: Ch 2, dc in each ch, join (16 stitches)

Rounds 2 & 3: Ch 2, dc in each st, join (16 stitches)

You will make the thumbhole in round 4.

Round 4: Ch 2, dc in 14 sts, ch 4 and skip over the last 2 sts (this creates the thumb hole), join (14 stitches + 4 chains)

Round 5: Ch 2, dc in each st and in each ch, join (18 stitches)

Rounds 6- 10: Ch 2, dc in each st, join (18 stitches)


Fasten off and then weave in your ends using a tapestry needle.
