I have been wanting to design a unicorn cowl for a while now. There’s just something so fun and magical about unicorns. Ashley was supposed to model this cowl for me but she ended up going over to a friends house so my little trooper, Mark, helped me out. I think he looks adorable. 🙂 If your kids are like mine and fight wearing hats and scarves in the winter, maybe a fun cowl like this will change their minds! I think this would also make a great Christmas gift. The thicker yarn and triple crochets make this pattern work up quickly!

Mane

Cut 18” long pieces of your mane colors (I used pink, purple, yellow and blue) and attach the strands two at a time around the stitches between the ears and down the back of the hood.  I recommend doing two rows of each color. I demonstrate how to do this in part three of my YouTube tutorial for this pattern.

Use a crochet hook to pull two strands of “hair” under a stitch. You will have the loop (folded section) on your hook on one side of the stitch and the 4 loose ends on the other.

Pull the 4 loose ends through the loop (folded section) and tie to create a knot.

That’s it! You are done! I hope you like my pattern. Please tag me on Instagram lovable_loops if you make your own!
