I’m super excited to share my Woodland Crochet Wall Hanging Decor Pattern with you. In this fun project, you’ll make four adorable woodland-themed C2C squares: a porcupine, a tree, a red mushroom, and a yellow mushroom.

Once you’ve got your squares, you’ll sew them together and add a stick or dowel rod for easy hanging. It’s a perfect way to bring a touch of nature into your home. Let’s get started and create something beautiful! The free crochet pattern is below.

Here’s a quick overview of the materials, sizing, gauge, and pattern notes before you begin.

Skill level

Advanced beginners. The crochet squares are made using the corner to corner C2C crochet method. It involves color changes.  

Materials needed

  • Crochet Hook Size: G-6 4 mm
  • Yarn: Worsted weight yarn #4
    Porcupine: white, brown, tan, and black
    Tree: white, green, and brown
    Mushrooms: white, red, yellow, and green
  • Yarn needle: Use this to weave in your ends.
  • Scissors: Use scissors to fasten off your yarn.
  • Stitch marker(s): Optional. Use these to help keep track of your stitches. 
  • Stick or dowel rod: Use a 12 inch stick or dowel rod for the wall hanging.

Assembling the wall hanging

Sew the four squares together through the borders. After you sew them together, make a border around the wall hanging.

Border: Ch 1, sc in each st, in each corner (sc, ch-1, sc), join and fasten off

Adding the hanging stick

Use white yarn to sew the wall hanging to the stick or dowel rod. Sew through the border stitches on the wall hanging and around the stick.

Attach a piece of yarn to each end of the stick for easy hanging.

Finishing

Weave in the ends.
