How to change colors in tapestry crochet
When it is time to change colors, work the last double crochet of the current color until two loops remain on your hook. Yarn over with the new color and pull it through the final two loops to complete the stitch. Continue crocheting with the new color.
Carry the green yarn across the row as you work the light string. For the light bulbs, use a separate yarn bobbin for each bulb color. Drop the bulb color when you are finished with that section and pick it back up when you reach it again. Do not carry the bulb colors across the row.
