My latest crochet project is this Candy Corn Bag. Some of you might notice that the orange and yellow colors aren’t in the correct order. I was originally planning to make a Jack-o-Lantern bag but ran out of the orange yarn I was using so I decided to turn it into a Candy Corn Bag. I’m really happy with how it turned out! The pattern is easy to follow and it’s fairly quick. Just add some Halloween candy and toys and you have the perfect Halloween gift for a kid. And the best part is that they can reuse the bag to go trick-or-treating!

Materials

– K 6.5mm crochet hook (I love these Clover hooks!)

– tapestry needle
– stitch markers
– worsted weight yarn in  whiteorange and yellow

Finished Size

9 inches tall and “base” diameter  is about 9 inches

Gauge

14 dc and 9 rows= 4 inches

Notes

-you are crocheting in the round

-bag is worked from the bottom up

Handles

Begin first handle where round 29 ended.

Chain 25

Skip over 10 stitches (you count the stitch you joined to) and join to the next stitch.

Slip stitch into the next stitch on the round.

Turn and chain 2.

Hdc in each of the 25 chains you made.

Join to the stitch that was the last stitch from round 28.

Locate the other two stitches that were made when you dc2tog. Mark them with stitch markers.

(close up to show what the dc2tog looks like)

Attach yarn to the stitch with the stitch marker on the right and repeat the steps from the first handle.
