Use your tapestry needle to sew the top shut.
Cut a long scrap of yarn.
Attach the yarn to the bottom center of your pumpkin with a knot. You are going to use your tapestry needle to pass the yarn up through the center of the pumpkin (through the Poly fil) and back down the outside of the pumpkin to create the first line for one of the six sections. You will do this five more times, creating six separate sections. Gently tighten the yarn as you go to create the “pumpkin look”. Secure the yarn, fasten off and weave in your ends.
You have a few different options for the stem. You could use a section of a stick which would give your pumpkin a more rustic look. Or, you could use a small wooden cylinder and paint it. I carefully used a saw to cut off the bottom portion of a Foam Paint Stick that I purchased at the dollar store. The size was perfect. Paint it whatever color you want and use your Hot Melt Adhesive to glue it to the top of your pumpkin. You are done!
