What is corner-to-corner crochet (C2C)?
Corner-to-corner crochet, also called C2C, is a method worked diagonally in small blocks made with chains and double crochet stitches. In this blanket, each unicorn animal panel is crocheted separately, then joined together to create the finished design.
Why you’ll love this pattern
- Playful unicorn animal design — Sweet faces and rainbow unicorn horns give the blanket a fun look.
- Made from 4 separate panels — A manageable project you can work one section at a time.
- Clean C2C colorwork — The blocks make color changes easier to follow.
- Great for kids — A fun choice for baby blankets, toddler blankets, or a cozy throw.
- Worsted weight yarn — Easy to find and budget-friendly.
- Simple finishing — Includes clear steps for sewing the panels and adding the border.
Pattern details
Here’s a quick overview of the materials, finished size, gauge, and pattern notes before you begin.
Skill level

Finished size
The finished unicorn animal crochet blanket measures approximately:
- 35 inches × 46 inches
- 89 cm × 117 cm
This size works well as a baby blanket, toddler blanket, or cozy kids throw.

Unicorn animal crochet blanket pattern instructions
Make each of the 4 unicorn animal panels using the graphs or the written instructions below. Once all the panels are finished, sew them together to assemble the corner-to-corner crochet blanket pattern.
Panel border (work on each panel before sewing)
Ch 1. Work 2 sc in each C2C block space around. In each corner, work (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc).
This border creates clean edges for seaming the panels together and makes it easier to add the final blanket border.

Assembling the blanket
Sew your crochet unicorn animal panels together. Make sure they are facing the correct way. You can use locking stitch markers to hold the panels together.
Adding a border
Work this border after seaming all four panels together (and after the panel borders are complete) following the color sequence.
- Round 1 = pink
- Round 2 = yellow
- Round 3 = green
- Round 4 = blue
Rounds 1-4: Ch 2. Make 1 hdc in each stitch along the blanket edges. In each corner, make (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc).
Finishing
Weave in your ends. Block if desired.
