C2C crochet dinosaur blanket pattern (free & easy)
This C2C crochet dinosaur blanket pattern is a fun, colorful project for kids who love dinos. The blanket is made from 6 corner-to-corner dinosaur panel (square) designs, each in a classic rainbow color, so it looks bright and cheerful in any bedroom or playroom.
You’ll crochet each dinosaur panel separately, then sew the panels together to finish your blanket. It’s a cozy throw for a bed or chair, and it also makes an amazing handmade gift.

Quick answer: C2C crochet dinosaur blanket pattern
This free C2C crochet dinosaur blanket pattern includes 6 dinosaur panels (T-Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Pterodactyl, and Brontosaurus) that you sew together to make a 45″ x 67″ blanket. It uses worsted weight yarn and the corner-to-corner (C2C) method with color changes.

What is corner-to-corner crochet (C2C)?
Corner-to-corner crochet (also called C2C) is a technique where you crochet diagonally instead of in rows. The project is built using small blocks made of chains and double crochet stitches, starting in one corner and growing row by row until you reach the widest point, then decreasing to finish the opposite corner.
C2C is especially popular for crochet blankets because it works up quickly and makes color changes easy—perfect for fun designs like this dinosaur blanket made from individual C2C panels.
Mix & match C2C blanket panels
All seven of my C2C blanket patterns are designed using the same panel size and layout, which means the panels can be mixed and matched across collections to create a custom blanket.
Each blanket uses six individual C2C panels arranged in a 2 × 3 layout, and every panel is worked to the same finished size—no resizing or stitch adjustments needed.
Choose panels from one theme or mix designs across sets, then sew them together and add a border to finish your blanket.

Finishing
Weave in your ends. Block if desired.

Frequently asked questions
Is this C2C crochet dinosaur blanket beginner friendly?
This pattern is best for advanced beginners. You’ll need to know basic corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet and how to change colors. A beginner-friendly C2C video tutorial is included to help you get started.
Do I have to use the same yarn colors?
No. You can use any worsted weight yarn colors you like. Changing colors is an easy way to customize the blanket for a nursery, bedroom, or gift.
Can I make a larger or smaller blanket?
Yes. Using thicker yarn and a larger hook will make a bigger blanket, while thinner yarn and a smaller hook will make a smaller one. This will change the panel size and final blanket measurements.
Do I need to follow the graph or the written instructions?
You can use either one. The pattern includes both a graph and written instructions so you can choose the format you’re most comfortable with.
Can I sell blankets made from this pattern?
Yes. You may sell finished blankets made from this pattern. Please credit Lovable Loops as the designer when possible.
