Ading the Braids
Cut twelve 30” strands of yarn for each braid.
- Fold the strands in half and pass the folded loop through the bottom of the ear flap.
- Pass the strand ends through the loop and pull tight to form a knot.
- Divide into three sections and braid.

Eyes Pattern
Start with black yarn.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 8 dc, join (8 stitches)
Switch to dark brown yarn.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st, join (16 stitches)
Switch to white yarn.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, *2 sc, sc in next st*, join (24 stitches)
Use white yarn to add the “eye sparkle”. Sew the eyes to the hat.
Snout Pattern
Use cream yarn.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 10 dc, join (10 stitches)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st, join (20 stitches)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next st*, join (30 stitches)
Nose Pattern
Use dark brown yarn.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 1, 6 sc, join (6 stitches)

Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first 2 sts, sc in the next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, sc in rem 4 sts, join (16 stitches)
Sew the nose to the snout. Then, sew the snout to the hat. Use dark brown yarn to make the smile and connect it to the nose.
Ears Pattern
The pattern is the same for the outer and inner ears. Use brown yarn for the outer ear and cream yarn for the inner ear.
Rnd 1: Magic circle, ch 2, 10 hdc, join (10 stitches)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st, join (20 stitches)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, *2 hdc in same st, hdc in next st*, join (30 stitches)
Stop here for the inner ear.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in each st, join and fasten off (30 stitches)
Sew the inner and outer ears together through the single crochet border on the inner ear and the front loops of the outer ear. Then, sew the ears onto the hat.
Finishing
Fasten off and then weave in the ends.
