What is corner-to-corner crochet (C2C)?
Corner-to-corner crochet (C2C) is a technique that builds your project diagonally using small blocks, often called squares. You start in one corner and increase each row until you reach the widest point, then decrease to form the opposite corner.
C2C is ideal for colorwork designs like these heart squares. Once you learn the basic C2C block, the pattern becomes repetitive and easy to follow using either the graph or the written instructions.
C2C heart square video tutorial
If you’re new to corner-to-corner crochet, I recommend watching my beginner-friendly C2C video tutorial first. It walks you step by step through a small C2C heart square, which is a great way to practice before starting this bag pattern.
The tutorial covers the basic C2C block, plus increases and decreases, so you’ll feel confident before you begin.
